TerraMax joins Iowa Soybean Research Center as industry partner

Ames, Iowa, USA
June 11, 2026

The Iowa Soybean Research Center at Iowa State University welcomes TerraMax as its newest industry partner. A representative from the company will serve on the ISRC’s industry advisory council, which provides guidance on research needs and funding priorities for the center.

As one of the ISRC’s industry partners, TerraMax will provide financial support to the center, which will be leveraged with soybean checkoff funds from the Iowa Soybean Association to support soybean research at the university.

“At TerraMax, our focus is on developing products that offer environmentally sound solutions for farmers, which aligns closely with the objectives of the ISRC, and we’re honored to be part of the effort to bring novel management strategies to soybean growers in Iowa. For years we have worked with Iowa State and are proud to be able to join the ranks of industry partners supporting this great institution.” said Tom Proepper, TerraMax chief operating officer.

“We are excited to welcome TerraMax as a partner to the ISRC, and we look forward to working with them to support forward-looking research that will benefit Iowa soybean producers,” said Steve Whitham, co-director of the ISRC and professor of plant pathology, entomology and microbiology at Iowa State.

“We look forward to gaining TerraMax’s perspective in identifying ways to enhance soybean production that benefit Iowa’s soybean farmers by producing healthier plants and increasing crop yields,” said Joe McClure, chief officer, Research Center for Farming Innovation for the Iowa Soybean Association and chair of the Iowa Soybean Research Center’s Industry Advisory Council.

The center is a formal collaboration of Iowa State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Iowa Soybean Association and industry partners. Together, representatives from ISA and the industry make up the ISRC’s Industry Advisory Council. TerraMax is the center’s latest industry partner, joining Ag Ingenuity Partners, AMVAC, BASF, Bayer, Beck’s, BioConnect Iowa, Corteva Agriscience, GDM, Indigo Ag, Inari, Meristem Crop Performance, Merschman Seeds, Nutrien, Peterson Genetics, Spraytec, Syngenta, Tidal Grow and Valent.
